The U.S. Department of Defense's "Defense Acquisitions University" (DAU) contracted for an 8-hour course to be developed in HTML5 and to include 20-25 min of live action video. I was the project manager and lead instructional designer. They asked me to make the dense content interactive and engaging. During analysis & design, I came up with the concept of making it a mystery puzzle and eventually settled on a theme that resembled a "Scooby Doo Mystery." (Be sure to watch or scrub-through the opening video to see the live-action cast transform into the Scooby(esque) Gang pictured above.)
As project manager, I managed the schedule and instructional design and was the main client liaison. I supervised the work of another instructional designer, the graphic design and motion graphics teams, the video production subcontractor, and the HTML programmer. We exceeded the client's expectations and delivered on schedule and within budget.
This project's deliverables included an approved project management plan, risk register, price file, production schedule, weekly meeting minutes, analysis document, design document, storyboards, prototype, live-action scripts, practice script run-through, learner assessment, final video and HTML5 content, source file inventory, and maintenance plan.
